Independent grading: every lot is tested by an accredited laboratory

We now send a split of every released lot to an ISO 17025-accredited laboratory for ISO 3632 testing, alongside our in-house measurements.

In-house measurement tells us what is happening in the drying rooms day to day. Independent measurement tells buyers they do not have to take our word for it.

From the November release, every lot has two grading results: ours, and one from an accredited laboratory working to ISO 3632-2. Both go into the grading file. When the two disagree beyond the method’s stated uncertainty, the lot is held and re-tested.

This is a modest cost per kilogram and a large reduction in the questions a quality team has to ask before approving a new supplier.
